Today is the official release date of the new GoPro Hero 7 series. GoPro Hero 7 Black, Silver and White were introduced a few days ago (we did a review of the new models here) and today the cameras are available for purchase. We are also happy to announce that:

Silver and White versions of the Hero 7 are a bit different a will not fit into the Split Dome port, but we are working on a new version for these two cameras.

GoPro Hero 7 Black, Silver and White

GoPro has just released the next model in their GoPro Hero series – the GoPro Hero 7. Hero 7 comes in three different models, going back to the system that was dropped with Hero 5 and 6. Hero 7 now comes as BLACK, SILVER or WHITE version. We will go into details later but first the introduction video:

The most impressive feature of the Hero 7 seems to be image stabilization that gives almost gimbal like impression. There is a separate video that does just the old stabilization/new stabilization comparison:

Apart from that, the new Hero 7 is still waterproof without a special housing up to 10m, same as the 2 versions before. Design wise it is also very similar to the previous two versions which makes it simple to use all of your old accessories.

Voice control allows you to operate your camera as already seen in Hero 5. Hero 7 version understands 16 different voice commands.

Photography has also been improved. Resolution stays the same at 12MP as it makes no sense to increase the resolution with the same size sensor. But the photo quality has been improved with automatic HDR, local tone mapping and noise reduction—in any light. It has a timer and scene detection and you can zoom in with your fingers to better frame the shot.

Some other features are:

camera also allows you to stream live video to Facebook,
at 1080p240 you can get up to 8x slow motion,
time-lapse video is also stabilized,
you can shoot at 4K60,
you can use the camera to track your speed, distance and elevation and add this to videos in the GoPro app,
and more.

What can we say, we are excited and can’t wait it test it with our Split dome.

It is however not compatible with Hero 7 Silver and White.

Now we can move to the three different models, what are the differences? The most noticeable difference from the outside is that Hero 7 Silver and White don’t have the small front screen with quick info on camera status. You know, the shooting mode, image counter etc… What else? Here are the specifications:

Split Dome Port for GoPro Hero5 Camera

In September 2016 GoPro has released their new version of the most popular action camera in the world - the GoPro Hero5. The list of all the specifications is long, here are a few that we are most excited about:

Voice Control - you can start shooting with your voice, great for times when your hands are busy holding the handlebars, paddling etc..:)
2-Inch Touch Display - if your GoPro is not H4 silver then this is a great upgrade, you see what you shoot and how the shots turned out

The question that we get asked a lot since the release is:

We are excited to say YES. There is a new version of Split Dome Port available that works with the new Hero5 camera and after a lot of testing it is ready for shipping! The new version is specially made just for the Hero5 camera, so make sure you choose the right version when buying.

Hero5 dome has a separate camera housing similar to the new super suit that fits into the dome so you are also getting a housing that allows you to take your Hero5 and Split Dome port deeper than 10m below surface. Plus - there is no need to remove the lens from the camera before putting it into the housing and into the dome making our dome the most simple end friendly to use.
